The Junk in the Trunk community rummage sale is recycling and treasure hunting at the same time! There is plenty of room both inside and outside the Pavilion at Switchyard Park for many different yard sale vendors to set up and sell unwanted furniture, books, clothing, toys, household goods, and more. Free parking is available in the nearby lots.

Seller information for Junk in the Trunk

  • Junk in the Trunk is August 19, 2023 from 8 a.m-1 p.m. inside and outside the Pavilion at Switchyard Park, 1611 S. Rogers St. in Bloomington.
  • Sellers are not able to drive to their spaces, and must be prepared with a wagon, cart, or dolly to move sale items the short distance from the parking lot to the vending spaces.
  • Purchase of an outdoor vendor space ($25) allows a seller an approximate 10’ x 10’ space. No tables or chairs are provided.
  • Carts and hand trucks will NOT be available for moving items to or from your booth. Please plan accordingly.
  • There may be up to two sellers per purchased seller space.
  • If the seller is a group and you would like a block of spaces please let us know in advance. If additional spots haven’t been paid for in advance only one space will be given. This is so that we can assign consecutive spots.
  • If you would like to be next to someone who also has a booth, please indicate on your application and we will do our best to make those accommodations. 
  • All Sellers must be over 18 yrs. old.
  • This is a garage/yard sale. For the integrity of the event, businesses are not permitted to participate. Sellers must reserve a vendor space by Aug. 16.
  • The seller space reservation fee goes toward advertising, marketing and administrative costs of implementing this event. Marketing includes: newspaper classified ads, Craigslist, email newsletters, posters, fliers, and social media.
  • Items such as furniture, household goods, clothing, jewelry, toys, collectibles, etc, may be sold at Junk in the Trunk.
  • Firearms, weapons, food, and drinks may NOT be sold at Junk in the Trunk.
  • Sellers should arrive NO EARLIER than 6 a.m. and NO LATER than 7 a.m. the morning of the event.
  • Junk in the Trunk takes place rain or shine. Sellers with outdoor spaces can bring a tailgate (pop-up) tent for their space that is NO larger than 10’ x 10’. Tent weights MUST be used.
  • The event runs from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and sellers will NOT be able to move out of the selling area during these times without approval of the onsite supervisor.
  • Sellers are responsible for cleaning up their trash and leaving the booth space clean. This includes removing all unsold items, empty boxes, and trash. Sellers must haul away their own trash.
  • Sellers are responsible for their own merchandise.
  • Restrooms are available in the building.
  • Once the event has officially ended you are allowed to clean up your space and move out. Vehicles may not be driven onto the brick pavers surrounding the Pavilion building.
