About the Bloomington Fire Department
Our department provides fire suppression, emergency medical services and rescue services for vehicle accidents and other rescue needs. We have an extremely dedicated team to provide our community protection before, during and after emergencies, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Our department has 99 full-time firefighters devoted to protecting the community. The department also employs seven full-time and one part-time office staff that includes the Fire Chief, Deputy Chief of Administration, Deputy Chief of Operations, Battalion Chief of Training, Fire Prevention Officer, Fire Inspection Officer and two administrative assistants. We encourage you to call upon us; we are here to serve you.
Our department's commitment to each of you is simple. In emergencies and nonemergencies alike, we strive to: think, be safe and serve.
The Bloomington Fire Department operates under two divisions: Operations and Administration.
