Healthy Halloween Party

The health and wellness witches are throwing a healthy Halloween Party at the Banneker Community Center, and your entire family is invited! Come in costume and take part in the costume contest, plus have a howling good time playing Halloween games, learning to prepare spooky snacks, trying on some sweet (or scary!) face painting, and sampling tasty and good-for-you Halloween treats!

Family Resource Center

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

Located on the third floor, this is a place where families, epecially those new to the community, can gather information, network with others, build a support system, and enjoy their children in a fun, safe space.

Evans-Porter Memorial Library

The Banneker Community Center is proud to host the Evans-Porter Memorial Library in partnership with the Monroe County Public Library. Come browse the book selections, magazines and resource maerials located in the Library. Check-out procedures are easy and convenient.

Summer Food and Fun at Banneker

A hot, nutritious meal is available at the Banneker community Center to children and their families during the summer months.

Meals are served from 5-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 2-July 25.

Children ages 18 yrs. and under eat free; adult meals are $3. Dinner is prepared by Chef for Hire, Inc.

Banneker Green Thumbs Garden

The Banneker Green Thumbs Garden, located at the Banneker Community Center on West Seventh Street, enables youth enrolled in the Banneker Community Center's after-school and summer programs to learn the art of organic gardening. Mother Hubbard's Cupboard, a local food pantry, partners with the Community Gardening Program to help educate the youth of our community while producing food to be distributed to community members in need through the Plant a Row for the Hungry campaign.
