Since 1998, the City of Bloomington and Monroe County have cooperated in the operation of a joint central emergency dispatch center. The Dispatch Policy Board serves as the oversight board for central emergency dispatch. The Policy Board is established pursuant to an interlocal cooperation agreement between the City of Bloomington and Monroe County, and the Board's members are appointed by the City and County. The Board meets at least every other month to review claims, examine contracts, receive information about dispatch operations, and discuss all other issues pertaining to dispatch services in Monroe County.
