Enjoy free, outdoor performances in venues throughout the city. Bring a lawn chair, a blanket, and a picnic basket and become immersed in the sights and sounds of the Performing Arts Series.

Looking for more, free, Bloomington music? Visit the Bloomington Community Farmers' Market every Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. and the Tuesday Market from 4-7 p.m. every Tuesday, June through September.

2015 Nature Sounds Performing Arts Series Performance at Lower Cascades Park

This new series was developed to introduce lovers of nature and music to the harmony of human-made music in natural settings. Immerse yourself in this unique listening experience that pairs acoustic music with songs of the wold. Each program begins with an introduction to the park's current music makers, followed by an hour-long concert. After the concert, a guided nature walk will encourage active listening and creating connections between our own music and that of nature.

2016 Performing Arts Series Call to Artists

The Performing Arts Series takes place at a variety of venues around Bloomington and showcases local musicians. Check back to this Web site for an application to become a featured performer in a Performing Arts Series concert or theatrical production during the summer of 2016.

Completed applications must be received by Friday, December 4 at 5 p.m. to receive full consideration. There is a $10 application fee. Performers are selected based on type and quality of performance, availability, past performance record, cost, and sponsor interest. 2016 Performing Arts Series Call to Sponsors

Only through the generous patronage of local businesses and organizations i the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department able to provide FREE concerts and movies to the community.
