RFT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY SERVICES DEPARTMENT

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Incumbent analyzes user needs and works with users to design, implement, and maintain server systems, including hardware and software. Develops prototypes of server systems. Tests and evaluates server systems for effectiveness, efficiency, and user acceptability. Evaluates deployed server systems and recommends modifications, upgrades, and replacements to improve their functioning. Researches and recommends appropriate, effective, efficient, and standards-compliant purchases of server systems. Develops, documents, and implements standard operating procedures for existing and new systems, in collaboration with the Technology Support Groups. Monitors trends and product developments in information technology.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as computer or information science, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

TRAINING/SKILLS
Requires expertise in the following: Linux, Windows Server, Vsphere, Enterprise Backup Software, AD/GPOs, TCP/IP networking, SSH, DHCP, and DNS. Proficiency required in the following: Nagios, Hyper-V, Samba/Windows SMB, Apache, BIND, ISC-DHCP, SANs, SSL/Certs, Firewalls (Windows and UFW for Ubuntu), POSIX ACLs/NTFS permissions, RAID, WSUS, WDS, MS Printing, and hardware troubleshooting. Preferred skills in LVMs, Powershell, Ansible, SVN, GIT, IIS, Perl, Tomcat, MySQL, MSSQL, and LDAP. Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to write and review technical documentation. Ability to courteously and effectively communicate with others. Ability to work in a self-directed environment.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum experience equivalent to one to three years.

LICENSE
Operator Driver's License

HOURS
8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday, other times as needed. On-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

SALARY RANGE
$53,000 - $63,000
