WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE FOUND AN ANIMAL

If you have found a stray animal, call Bloomington Animal Care and Control at 812-349-3492 for assistance. You can search a list of lost pets. If needed, an Animal Control Officer can pick the animal up and bring him to the shelter. If you are able to, you can bring the stray animal to the shelter during our open hours which are M/W/Th/Sat from noon to 5 p.m. and Tues/Fri from noon to 7 p.m. If you would like to care for the animal temporarily while the owner is located, you can file a found report. If you choose to care for the animal yourself, you can bring the animal to the shelter to be scanned for a microchip and to allow us to get a better description of the animal's breed, age and other characteristics.

Please be aware that when you call the Animal Shelter, you may get our voicemail system. The Shelter receives 300 to 400 calls per day. We check voicemail regularly throughout the day and return calls as soon as possible.
