Call to Artists - 2016 Season

Applications are available beginning January 11, 2016.
To receive full consideration, applications must be received by February 19 at 5 p.m.

Bloomington Parks and Recreation invites local artists to apply to participate in A Fair of the Arts, a juried arts and fine crafts fair. A Fair of the Arts is held at Showers Plaza, an outdoor festival site adjacent to City Hall at Eighth and Morton Streets.

A Fair of the Arts is held the second Saturdays of the season:

Artists may apply to participate in A Fair of the Arts online. There is a non-refundable, $15 jury fee per application.

Cost for approved selected artists to participate in A Fair of the Arts is $50 per Saturday. Commissions are not collected on sales.

To receive full consideration, applications must be received by Feb. 20 at 5 p.m.

Criteria for selecting artists for A Fair of the Arts include style of work (divided into 10 categories: clay, drawing/painting/photography, fiber arts, glass, jewelry, metalwork/woodwork, natural materials, recycled arts, surface decoration, and personal care); quality of work, price of work, and variety of artists.

"All work for sale a A Fair of the Arts must be original, and made by the application," said Greg Jacobs, community events coordinator with the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department. "In addition, work must be safe, have a decent life expectancy, and exhibit quality of craftsmanship."
