Caves Among Us

Explore the cave entrances, springs, and wetland area at Leonard Springs Nature Park. Walk the rugged one-mile loop trail and participate in hands-on activities during this tour. Binoculars and magnifying glasses are provided for use during the hike. Sturdy, waterproof shoes and a water bottle are recommended. Parking is limited, so pre-register for this program and plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to start time. For ages 8 yrs. and up. Instructor: Kriste Lindberg

Spring is the season for vitamin-rich shoots, leafy greens, and tasty flowers. Learn how to identify some wild edibles on this short hike through our local forest. Taste some wild edibles after the hike. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle. For ages 8 yrs. and up.

Paddle around Griffy Lake and clean up litter that could spoil one of our most precious local natural resources. Trash bags, watercraft, and gloves are provided. Watercraft are available on a first-come, first-served basis. For all ages.

Family Night Paddle

The whole family is invited to this special Night Paddle in celebration of Earth Week. Let the kids stay up past their bedtimes to paddle out at sunset and watch darkness fall over Griffy Lake. Registration is required and parents must accompany children under age 14 yrs. Watercraft, paddles, and life jackets are provided. Bring a flashlight to help you navigate your way once you get back on dry land. For all ages.
