Be inspired to be a part of our beautiful natural world! Adopt-a-Trail is an all-volunteer program that gives the public an opportunity to be actively involved in conserving and maintaining the natural wealth and beauty of Bloomington Parks and Recreation's trail system. Volunteers assist Parks and Recreation staff with the vital task of improving and maintaining the many trails in parks throughout Bloomington.

Objectives for the Adopt-a-Trail program are:

Volunteers who choose to Adopt-a-Trail receive training and instruction on proper trail maintenance techniques. All necessary tools and equipment will be provided. The only requirement to adopt a trail is to have a genuine concern for the well-being of our natural resources. Garden clubs, scout troops, youth groups, individuals, special interest clubs, church organizations, families, neighborhood associations, students, school organizations and private industries are encouraged to get involved. A one-year commitment is required. Adopt-a-Trail volunteers must be at least 12 years of age.
