RFT COMMUNITY EVENTS COORDINATOR 2-ARTS
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Develops, plans, implements, and evaluates community special events programs, the Performing Arts Series, the Peoples Park series, the Movies in the Park Series, A Fair of the Arts event, Holiday Market event, and other arts related services. Prepares and submits proposals for programs, management practices, and activities based on assessed community needs. Ensures positive relations and communication with general public and effectively addresses concerns/questions in a timely manner. Collaborates and attends meetings with community groups and agencies. Assists in promoting programs. Maintains events equipment inventory. Manages event budgets. Maintains accurate records and files and submits activity reports. Solicits funds and sponsorships from community businesses. Serves as on-site supervisor or instructor. Recruits, trains, and supervises various part-time staff, interns and volunteers.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration, Education or related field is required.

TRAINING/SKILLS
Working knowledge of the design, planning and implementation of special events. Thorough knowledge of a full range of theories and principles accepted in the field of recreation. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum experience equivalent to over one year, required, and supervisory experience preferred. Experience and knowledge of sound production, preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Ability to obtain certification for administering American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED. Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.

HOURS
8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday, evenings/weekends, holidays as needed

SALARY RANGE
$39,000 - $42,000
