Google Fiber for Communities

Information technology has the ability to empower communities and fuel job creation. Recently the ubiquitous search company Google announced its intent to establish gigabit-per-second fibre-to-the-home networks in a handful of communities in the US. The speed of these experimental networks will be more than 100 to 1000 times our current broadband speeds... a difference in kind, not just degree. Such a network would transform our community in ways we can hardly imagine. But imagining them, is part of what Google is seeking. City ITS and ESD staff are crafting a response with input from IU and many other community partners to make a strong case for Bloomington.

To craft as strong an response as possible, we need your ideas as well.
