All-way stop coming to State Road 45 in Bloomington

Indiana Department of Transportation crews are scheduled to install an all-way stop at the intersection of State Road 45 and Smith Road on or after Friday, March 28, in Bloomington.

Installation work is expected to take up to one day, weather permitting. Stop ahead advance warning signs and flashers will also be installed. We encourage drivers to approach the intersection with caution as motorists become familiar with the change. 

The installation of the all-way stop aims to improve safety and mobility by reducing the potential for right angle crashes at the intersection. Sight distance management work has also taken place at the intersection to help enhance visibility for motorists.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
