Officers at the Bloomington Police Department are well trained. Training begins before officers perform law enforcement duties for the community and continues throughout the officer's career.
New Hiring Information
The Bloomington (IN) Police Department will be conducting a hiring process for the position of Probationary Police Officer. Applicants must have a current valid certification through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) or from another state that can meet ILEA standards for Indiana certification.

The deadline for applications is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013 and any applications received after that time and date will not be considered. Interviews will take place during the week of June 24-28, 2013 with a tentative hiring date in early August.
