Message from the Deputy Mayor
Bloomington is one of the best places to live, work, visit and play. As the City's Office of the Mayor staff, we take a true team approach to assisting the Mayor carry out his vision for the community.
As Deputy Mayor, I work with Department Heads and other staff to carry out the Mayor's vision for our community. I do this by leading the City's ongoing strategic planning process; organizing multi-departmental City teams including those devoted to the budget, process enhancement, space utilization, community character, the Downtown and outreach; overseeing project management tracking; and managing the Office of the Mayor.
The Assistant Deputy Mayor supports these efforts while focusing on project management and tracking and Web site content development and organization, and we work with the Communications Director in sharing information about City services, projects and initiatives to residents, businesses, students and visitors.
The Executive Assistant manages the daily operations in the office, drafts all proclamations, greetings and recognition letters, and assists the communications staff with constituent letters, e-mails and event coordination.
Office of the Mayor staff are assisted daily by interns and fellows, who do great work assisting full-time staff while gaining valuable experience in their field of interest.
