Volunteers in Medicine of Monroe County (VIM)

A Free Smoking Cessation Class Meets Weekly at the VIM Clinic!

The Volunteers in Medicine of Monroe County (VIM) established their free medical clinic in 2007. The clinic provides free health care for some of the more than 13,000 uninsured children and adults in Monroe and Owen Counties.

As of February 23, 2009, the clinic is located on 811 W. Second Street in Bloomington. Within walking distance of Bloomington Hospital, the new facility is more comfortable and spacious than its prior location (the former CHAPs Clinic). The new facility is directly off of Second Street, just west of Maple Street and the Kids Club child care center (the old Hunter Elementary School). The VIM Clinic's new phone number is 812-333-4001, although the clinic's former telephone number will continue to be of use for an indefinite period.

The Volunteers in Medicine Clinic's new location on 811 W. Second Street is a 5,250-square-foot medical facility located west of Bloomington Hospital. The new clinic is dedicated exclusively to VIM clinic operations. This will allow for more comfortable and relaxed visits for clinic patients, and enable volunteer medical care providers to see more patients each day. The Volunteers in Medicine were able to relocate to this new facility due to the generosity of Cook Medical.
