Business & Sustainability
Local government must take the lead in envisioning and creating a thriving community, identified by the health of its environment, the vitality of its economy and the equity among its citizens. Creating such a community requires cooperative participation from both the public and private sectors. In this section of the City of Bloomington website, you will find more information on the City's approach to business and sustainability, and the resulting economic development initiatives and business incentives
Unified Development Ordinance receives edits | |
|---|---|
| Beginning in early 2008, the City developed a package of UDO amendments designed to correct errors and omissions in the original document and to enhance certain areas of the code. After a process that included six hearings before the Plan Commission and five hearings before the Common Council, the Council's adoption of the UDO amendments became official on Nov. 6, 2009. The effective date of the new amendments was delayed until Dec. 7, 2009, to ensure that Planning Department staff had time to edit and produce the new document and to distribute it to interested parties. Any permit applications or development proposals submitted to the City on or after Dec. 7 will be subject to the new version of the UDO. |
