TO SPECIALLY APPROPRIATE FROM THE GENERAL FUND, THE PARKS GENERAL FUND, AND THE JACK HOPKINS FUND EXPENDITURES NOT OTHERWISE APPROPRIATED (Appropriating a Portion of the Amount of Funds Reverted to Various City Funds at the End of 2019 for the Purpose of Assisting with Bloomington's Recovery Forward from the COVID-19 Pandemic During 2020)
Appropriation Ordinance 20-03 appropriates an additional $1,974,250 from the General Fund, Parks General Fund, and Jack Hopkins Fund. In lieu ofrequesting the City's annual additional appropriation of reversions for various City Departments, the City is instead requesting this appropriation for the purpose of pursuing initiatives that will help Bloomington recover forward in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. To that end, Appropriation Ordinance 20-03 will allow the City to invest more than $1,000,000 on sustainable quality of life initiatives in Bloomington through green investments, improved mobility options, investments in our local food economy, grants for the arts, and with initiatives that seek to improve digital equity. The Ordinance also sets aside more than $500,000 in direct support to grow jobs, and dedicates additional funds to support affordable home ownership for working families.
