Half of the 8 light fixtures across the two light poles at Switchyard Skatepark are out and have been for quite some time.
Half of the 8 light fixtures across the two light poles at Switchyard Skatepark are out and have been for quite some time.
I'm going to start a weekly inquiry for when the Switchyard Skatepark lights are going to be fixed. There are still many bulbs out and there are plenty of dark spots so skating past sundown becomes dangerous, despite lots of people still skating around that time.
The merry go round isn't going around.
Skatepark lights are still over 50% burnt out. Days are getting shorter, risk of people injuring themselves at the park are increasing. Please look into replacing the fixtures sooner rather than postponing it indefinitely.
Multiple urban camp sites just off trail near dog runs. Clearly visible from b-line. lots of trash.
Loose bolt on basketball hoop at Switchyard: The south basket at the Switchyard basketball court has a loose screw that keeps needing replaced/tightened. As you face the basket, it's the upper-left bolt. A constituent has been voluntarily tightening it when it gets loose, but he wants it fixed. He said last time the bolt fell out and the washer was lost and had to be backordered/the basket was out of commission for a while. He said he's submitted some complaints before and it is still a problem.
Switchyard basketball court lighting: Most of the park is well lit at night (pickleball court, skate park, etc.) but the basketball court isn't. Constituent would like to request lighting there so it's safer/easier to see.
the bricks under most picnic benches (if not all!) are spotted with stuff that looks disgusting, and attracts flies.
I know I've asked before, but any update on getting the lights back on at Switchyard Skatepark? Days are rapidly getting shorter!
On nice days would it be possible for the Park staff (and the Bloomington police) to be more active in enforcing face coverings and the limit on gatherings. This was a day when Indiana hit another record (11/7). THe pickle ball court was taken over by this group of more than 25 people who were having a tournament. Most were not wearing masks as they sat around. Down the road the playground was packed. I know this is especially hard for staff or police since it's the parents making poor decisions, not wearing masks, and most if not all children not wearing masks.
