I received a phone call from a resident of the Near West Side neighborhood, who wanted the City to know how much he appreciated the Brighten B-Town crew that was recently working on his street. They cleaned up the yard in front of a vacant home and edged and cleaned the cracks in the sidewalks up and down the block. The resident frequently walks in his neighborhood, and has noticed improvements throughout. Kudos to the Public Works department!

Why for having such a vibrant and significant LGBT community does the City have basically no local recognition and programming? The City does a great job at promoting the Latino, black, women, children, and many other communities and groups. But as far as I know we have no LGBT affairs commission, no awards recognition, etc. Maybe I'm wrong? But none of my friends know either. It's more than about not being discriminated against, it's about celebrating a unique and important part of local culture. Thank you. Hope to see this changed. I know the mayor is a personal ally but how about showing it in office. There are so many things that can be done to do better on this front.

They were at a light by 3rd St.and the city vehicle was not signaling at the intersection. The city driver then cut them off (he was on the phone). Further down by 17th St. the driver slowed down to 10 mph and as they went to pass him he started giving them "dirty looks". The city driver was in Fleet Vehicle #409 at 3:15 today.

6/23/16 To: John Hamilton Mayor I hope the Taste of Bloomington was a big success. It was bad news for the laborers who set up the tents. Southside Rental who employed them did not pay them. They had some excuses. These are folks who really need the money. It reflects badly on the city that those at the lowest level do not get paid promptly. I hope you will tell Southside that they give the city a bad name. Bloomington is a great city and the Taste of Bloomington has gone on well for many years. Thanks, Robert P. Muldoon 501 N. Under the underpass is a drainpipe that has ice built up around it. When it rains water gushes out of it . It's right over the exit from 37 northbound to 46 eastbound.

Saulius Alminauskas came into OOTM on 9.28.12 to complain that BPD officers come to his residence every month "for no reason" and harass him. He said police officers had busted down his door earlier that morning and assaulted him. He plans to talk to his attorney and possibly take legal action. He lives at 604 Moss Creek Drive.
