I rented a Bird bicycle to ride home a few weeks ago. The bike has still not been removed from my property even though I reported it to Bird through the app using their removal form. I contacted them at least twice since then with no response and the bike is still on my property. How do I get rid of it?

I am a student at Indiana University. The electronic scooters have been insanely helpful to navigating the campus when busses are full or running late. I appreciate the no-parking zones, as they help keep the sidewalks freer of the scooters and allow for accessibile use. My issue currently is that there are official IU Campus buildings registered as no-parking zones. In particular, the Arts Annex building on 12th and Woodlawn. I am asking for the city of Bloomington to work with IU officials on clearly labeling campus buildings where scooter parking zones should be present. Then, the city of Bloomington takes that info to the electronic scooter companies to update their apps and services.

I have contacted the city of Bloomington and Indiana University concerning electric scooters and bikes predominately used by IU students. The scooters especially are extremely dangerous as and a hazard to all other forms of transportation including pedestrians. There is also one specific e bike which is privately owned and used by a driver in all black clothing usually while riding in the Bloomington Rail Trail at least going 30 mph or more. To get rider has no regard for others and risks harm to many elderly, children and families who use the trail. This person should not be allowed on the trail. I have been to several other communities who have restricted use of these hazardous vehicles through the use of geo-fencing, security and other methods. A few times I have noticed scooters riding on the square. Yelling to the riders they have to dismount and they ignore me. I think these signs are too high so riders don't notice them. I didn't realize they were there for a while. Why not lower them to eye level so they will be noticed.

The new scooters are a bad idea. They are everywhere and haphazardly parked on sidewalks, entrances, etc. More concerning is the of the scooters use on public streets, especially at night. They are much slower and difficult to see. What a terrible idea by the city. It is just a matter of time that I think someone will get hurt. Please reconsider allowing these scooters, or at least limit the use and scope of these scooters.
