2007 E Second this morning at 11 am. 2 hours later one of the scooters had been blown over and was half in the street. Traffic had to stop to let oncoming cars pass, because the road is very narrow here. I complained about scooters parked like this in the same spot a week ago. Don't those BIRD people learn from their mistakes?! This sidewalk is used by kids walking to 3 schools. A parent walking hand in hand with a child cannot pass here.

Scooters are the latest scourge on Bloomington and it seems that our city officials refuse to directly address the issue. The unenforceable regulations that tie them to bicycles is ridiculous. I walk downtown routinely and each time I have gone downtown I have experiences a scooter whizzing by me on the sidewalk in the "dismount" zone. Motorized vehicles should not be on sidewalks, period. They also continue to litter the downtown and neighborhoods. They lay everywhere and create an unsightly mess all over town. Bloomington is quickly becoming a less desirable city in which to live because of our mayor's and city council's inability to deal with this latest invasion.

West side of 500 block of S. Washington. Sidewalk cracked, broken, and heaved up by tree growth. Does the city claim sidewalk repair is the responsibility of adjacent property owner? What about the goal of walkability?

Bird Scooters parked on the corner of Eastside and Mxwell.
If there would be a person in a wheelchair trying to get onto the sidewalk at that corner, they would have trouble. Shame on you BIRD. The way they are placed I cannot believe they were left like that by the users.

This is on E Second near the footbridge close to Anita.
These scooters were not left by the users. They were out there bright and early on Dec. 5. Totally blocking the sidewalk. A disgrace. Show this to Mr. BIRD!

Kaleb Crain's motorized chair blocked by 3 scooters on the sidewalk on Woodcrest near 3rd. He posted it in Facebook on November 30 at 11:25.
This chair is a mobility device. Scooters are optional alternative transport. Please stop calling them mobility devices.

Hello! I’m a resident of 639 north maple street. On my dead end street, there is an untrimmed, unofficial entrance that MANY residents of the neighborhood access on a daily basis. However, the path that has been roughly paved by passerby’s is steep, rocky, untrimmed and dangerous, especially in rain or snow. Even in the summer, it is dangerous. Children and pregnant women have issues going through here. I have tried to enter the b-line this way, but it’s too dangerous and steep for me. Anyway we can get something done for the neighborhood? We know there’s a sidewalk and safer way after the bridge on 11th to access, but out of convenience or maybe ambiance, most people enter through our dead end makeshift entrance. The makeshift entrance seems to not be in a definitive tenants yard/property. No one really knows. If someone could come check it out, that’d be great and appreciated. Thanks! - Ruth
