I need to know what wooded areas are county owned that me and my fiance can set up a tent and live in there we don't want to get in trouble or post on private property thanks
Tent camp is growing quite large. This is against city ordinance. Same problem is going on at switchyard park. Homeless camps being set up in the area, people loitering, creating trash and littering, human waste, needles, etc. this is causing huge problems with nearby businesses and home owners. Been going on months/years? Will this ever be addressed in a manner needed to actually fix the problems? Or will Bloomington continue to enable these problems?
Every since the parks department allowed tents at seminary park throughout the day there are increasingly large numbers of people not social distancing without mask in a small confined space. They are then dispersing throughout the community (Kroger, shalom, rally’s, etc...), once again not wearing mask. This is not what the CDC means when they say not to tear down homeless communities. It’s to prevent them spreading disease. Our homeless community still socializes without regard to others in the community and therefore not breaking up that tent camp is irrelevant to what the CDC recommends. Also there are tons of laws being broke at seminary park every day. The park is filled with trash, used needles, and feces just to name a few problems. Litter is blowing everywhere in the surrounding area. The law and rules apply to everyone in the community. Please hold everybody accountable! Failure to do so will impact Bloomington’s economy and slow the recovery through this pandemic.
I own the property located at 1005 N. Jackson St, 47404. Shortly after purchasing the property the house next door burned down. We felt very fortunate that our house was not damaged. The house was demolished, however, shortly after demolishing the house someone has set up a tent on the lot and multiple people have been seen using the tent. There is trash surrounding the tent. Though we have not seen a fire there is what appears to be a makeshift fire pit. We use this property as a short term rental and it has the proper permits. I am personally concerned about the safety of my wife who spends some of her days working on improvements within the property. Obviously concerned about the impact on our ability to rent the home with the above described situation. I'm not sure what can be done but after reviewing the code it does not seem like this fits the intended use of the property. I am also empathetic to the rise of homelessness in our community, but this is a residential neighborhood and for the safety of all community members something should be done. We dodged a serious issue when the house burnt down and worry we may not be so lucky if something happens again. Thanks for your attention to this matter, please reach out with any questions. Hello - I live up the street from the B-line bridge that crosses over Grimes. What started as one tent has become a full-blown camp, and the conditions have caused me to feel unsafe using that portion of the B-line trail. The last time I used the bridge the urine smell was quite strong and there was a man having a bad trip outside the encampment. We've been awoken by yelling and general disturbance from members of the camp and their dogs, and the general disturbance has caused me and several neighbors with kids to not use that portion of the B-line (not using the Switchyard Park playground and dog park, or driving there instead of walking). It's reached a point that we're uncomfortable - I hope I don't sound unsympathetic to their situation. I don't have a good solution either!
The following neighbors of mine have trash littered all over the property, it's x100 times worse than Joe Davis's property, and I'd really like to have someone come please help me and my kids with this. They bring methhead friends to sleep in the tent behind the house, their sewer drains into yard, the summers are pure hell for my kids because they get bitten up so bad they cannot play outside and I can barely do mowing because all the tires and junk on the property where mosquitoes live. There are dozens of ferral cats running all over the place jumping into my trash containers that live on their property. The front and back yard have broken down vehicles leaking god knows what into the ground. he takes engines apart in the front yard, that spills off into mine. Why is Joe Davis' property headline news and these peoples aren't? I'm very confounded by this. I know you guys are busy but please help in getting them to clean this up.

There is a woman with a dog having a mental health crisis near a tent here. She is screaming and screaming at no one.
There are mattresses, a small dresser, trash and broken down vehicle parked/abandoned at the northern trailhead on Dunn St. My neighbor says he saw a tent and campsite in the trail early this morning as well. I don't mind the squatter camping, but the excessive trash is unacceptable.
