Sidewalk piece has began to rise up and protruding out of the ground 2 to 3 inches. With there being no bike lane I’m riding my transportation apparatus on the sidewalk. Several weeks ago the new fiber cables were buried along E Hillside Dr. I was working from home when one of the workers knocked on the door and asked if I had water. I did, and so did the neighbors. The worker said he ran into water, but if we all had service, then he wasn’t going to worry about it. I didn’t think anything of it. Now, we have noticed there is water coming up out of a spot along the sidewalk. I realize the picture is not really telling you much, but it’s like a small mud pit and water is coming up out the ground there. This is within the 10’ strip that the City of Bloomington owns along this section of Hillside.

The storm drain continues to stay clogged at 16th and Jackson. We have cleaned it 4 times this year. It. Is a drainage design flaw. Everything washes out and gets clogged .

There is a very strong sewer smell around the Broadview Learning Center building and the Broadview Park. The smell has gotten into the building, but definitely is originating from outside.

Good morning, There is quite a lip on the (much broken up and repaved this summer) street in front of our house, located at 1019 S Hawthorne Drive. It's been there for years, and our garbage cans keep falling backwards because of the difference between the road surface and the ancient in-need-of repair culvert in front of our house. Our neighbor, at 1026 Hawthorne Drive, had the same issue and said I could ask for the same remediation that fixed their problem - a fresh pour and grading of the asphalt shoulder in front of their house. Is this possible? I think the garbage truck folks would be grateful for this fix, too. Thank you so much! Christena Nippert-Eng

A collapsed metal drainage culvert is a risk of injury to people and animals walking on the north side of E Morningside near N Smith Road. A 7 inch wide hole in the pavement above the east end of the 60 year old metal culvert is becoming larger. A similar culvert collapse near the west end of this culvert was partially repaired in recent years. Best practice may be to replace the decayed metal with plastic or other durable material.
