Please inform me what BPD is doing to directly address this danger to the public safety of this city. Thank you. We have listed the statue below for your review and will forward you concern to the commander of the bloomington district. At 900 N Curry Pike, behind our Fire Station there is a homeless camp that is by the railroad tracks. The people living there are causing issues such as drug use, leaving dirty needles laying around, trash all over, and stealing from residence at the park. The Fire Station does not have cameras which they need. They need some kind of security due to these people being right behind them. Someone needs to look into this issue ASAP.

Homeless encampment in the woods on what I can only gather is public land but I'm not sure if someone owns it. They have completely trashed the area in and around these woods. They do drugs, are loud and dangerous. They have a bunch of cars and trash on N Summit close to the woods they stay in. There is trash all around the vehicles. I don't think they should be allowed to trash the neighborhood and cause issues.

Smartphone use while driving is a huge problem in Bloomington. Almost every time I get on the road as a driver or cyclist, I see people staring at their phones while driving. Why aren't cops patroling the streets for this? It's a huge contributor to traffic accidents, and it makes me scared to ride my bike. People do it while they're stopped at stoplights or even stop signs, which is dangerous enough, but I see it all the time while people are driving! The tell-tale signs are swerving, driving very slowly, and obviously seeing someone's head pointed down toward their lap. The police should be focused on eradicating this habit before an innocent pedestrian or someone else dies.
