The whole stretch of East Moores Pike between Sare Rd and Andrew Circle needs drainage work. Whenever there's even a little rain the ground either side of the road drains into the road for a week after. There's black ice all over it pretty much all winter and it's a fast road on a steep hill. During even light rain it's deep enough to cause hydroplaning.
This morning around 7:00 -7:30 while on my morning walk I had two mishaps with regard to the construction work around or near the 4th st. fire station. First, crossing Kirkwood st. A dump truck (Young construction) decided to cut me off at the pedestrian crossing at Kirkwood and Dunn st. Next, a large loader (Milestone Construction) decided to back up without looking. I was on the sidewalk all the time and was within inches of getting KIlled. I yelled very loud and the operator heard over the machine and stopped. I do not believe I should have such experiences with just a simple walk. I have noticed over many weeks that this project is a slip-shod operation with a lack of management. There is still a DETOUR AHEAD sign on southbound Union St. between Law Ln. and E. 10th St. that I believe is left over from utility work that IU did 2-3 years ago on Union St. at 10th.
Water runoff (consistent, day to day problem), from nearby/ adjoining (possibly restaurant/fine dining businesses) is a visual/ sanitary problem to pedestrians.
I am the homeowner and have recently built an attached sunroom with sinks at this address. I need to connect the water pipe from those sinks to the city sewer line, and so would like to request a detailed sewer line map of/around my property, if available. Thanks.
New Modular Home that was recently dropped off at 939 N Fairview Street is routing all off their Gutter run off from all 4 down spouts to run down onto neighbors property at 941 N Fairview St?
The swale to the west side of our home overfilled as storm water was backed up at the street drains which then flooded the window well to our basement on June 18-19. Although our yard is regularly flooded during heavy storms, the west swale was designed and dug by the City to carry excess water to the street. We believe this swale needs to be dug deeper and lined with rock to stop erosion from occurring to prevent future flooding of our basement. Please send an engineer to evaluate. This problem has been reported several times.
Hello - I am the homeowner at 102 South Waldron St. here in Bloomington. This past Friday my basement flooded an excessive amount (3 feet) due to water buildup on Waldron Street. This has happened 4 times over the past 6 years I have lived here because the water has nowhere to go due to the flat area at the bottom of Waldron Street. I am requesting a storm drain be installed on Waldron Street just North of my house and in front of 100 South Waldron Street. My neighbors basement has also been severely flooded over the years due to water buildup from the street - the homeowners name is Simon Ladd. We both have sub pumps in our basements (I actually have 2) and it still doesn’t solve the flooding issue. I have spoken to Mr. Ladd and we both agree the best solution is for the city to install a storm drain. My number is 812-369-0765. The storm drain couldn't handle all the water from the bad storm over the weekend, and the runoff created a hole behind the drain. Don't know if there's any damage, but if anything, the grate needs a thorough cleaning. Thank you!
