Every since the parks department allowed tents at seminary park throughout the day there are increasingly large numbers of people not social distancing without mask in a small confined space. They are then dispersing throughout the community (Kroger, shalom, rally’s, etc...), once again not wearing mask. This is not what the CDC means when they say not to tear down homeless communities. It’s to prevent them spreading disease. Our homeless community still socializes without regard to others in the community and therefore not breaking up that tent camp is irrelevant to what the CDC recommends. Also there are tons of laws being broke at seminary park every day. The park is filled with trash, used needles, and feces just to name a few problems. Litter is blowing everywhere in the surrounding area. The law and rules apply to everyone in the community. Please hold everybody accountable! Failure to do so will impact Bloomington’s economy and slow the recovery through this pandemic.

Homeless encampments in seminary park? Why is this allowed? I witnessed a man urinating in open air outside tent at 645 am while I was dropping mail. How is this happening? There are services all over town.

Tent camp is growing quite large. This is against city ordinance. Same problem is going on at switchyard park. Homeless camps being set up in the area, people loitering, creating trash and littering, human waste, needles, etc. this is causing huge problems with nearby businesses and home owners. Been going on months/years? Will this ever be addressed in a manner needed to actually fix the problems? Or will Bloomington continue to enable these problems?

Tents are popping up again in Seminary Park and the adjacent open spaces. I cannot believe these are for "Garage sales, religious tent meetings, nonprofit events and political rallies" (City Code), so I hope they will soon be removed.

I live in Maple Heights next to the naturescape (approximately at the intersection of Rogers and 13th st). Crews were working here for weeks replacing an electricity pole and they left a bunch of trash and debris in the naturescape, including wooden pallets and a broken tent.

Hello, Monroe Parks & Rec, This is just an FYI and hopefully an appeal for help. I contacted the sheriff’s office on Sunday, March 29, 2020 and since then the camping site looks to have expanded and the trash in the creek and along the road has increased. If you begin at the parking lot on Country Club and walk south on the gravel road that runs parallel to the trail, it takes about a 4-5 minute walk south to arrive at the spot. It is past the brush and next to the creek. There is a small orange tent and a large blue/green structure (I didn’t get too close), there is also something large in the creek that looks like bedding. This tent has been blowing around and junking up the yard for over a week. Looks horrible and with the wind it could be dangerous.
