No issue, just a suggestion. Please consider public restrooms and water bottle filling stations in the downtown area and along Kirkwood and/or 4th street. With so many street fairs, outdoor festivals, etc. It seems ridiculous that a thriving city such as what Bloomington is would not have these amenities for it's populous. I figure if Nashville, Indiana can have public restrooms, why don't we?
The tree inside the large dog park has a large diameter dip around the base of it. This dip is constantly filled with very rank smelling water and I along with all other dog owners have discussed how unhappy we are that we must bathe our dogs anytime we take them to get exercise. My dog needs consistent exercise and the best way to do this is at the dog park, but constant bathing can cause skin to dry out. At one point, the city had placed a temporary barrier around it so I believed there was hope for a solution, but since then the barrier has been taken down.
Our neighborhood has reported this resident multiple times and the city has done absolutely nothing to correct the issues on this property. This property is a literal junk yard, and when I say literal, I mean this without any exaggeration. It is littered with trash, abandoned vehicles, broken appliances scattering the entire yard. My kids go outside to play and are bombarded with mosquitoes that live in the water-logged abandoned junk all over the property. Can someone from the city please address this since the other departments are not addressing it?
Under the underpass is a drainpipe that has ice built up around it. When it rains water gushes out of it . It's right over the exit from 37 northbound to 46 eastbound.
Over the holiday weekend, we had yet another water main break in Hyde Park Village. Happy to report that CBU was quick on the scene fix the problem and mostly cleaned up the mess. I would like to speak with someone regarding the issues as this was our second water main break in two weeks. I am the president of Hyde Park Village homeowners association. Our sub division Northwood Estates has been having a lot of trouble with drainage. It seems that the easements have overgrown scab trees & brush that may be blocking some water but it also seems as thoug your drainage system that takes the water to a creek needs to be cleaned out. We back up to the golf course & have trouble getting the golf course staff to maintain our side of the course, ie mowing, weeds, dead trees along the road,etc. We seem to be a bit neglected when it comes to these problems. Maybe send this to the mayor's office and CBU doesn't seem to be responding. There are numerous reports of water, color and quality issues across the city. Can someone please issue a statement about what is going on? It is not an isolated location and has been going on for many days. We deserve to know.
For Administration Leadership and All Council Members: midwestern citizens including all of Bloomington and Monroe county are paying very close attention to the AI wave and increase in control of resources that put cost burdens on the common rate payer instead of the companies drawing upon those resources the most. Citizens need some public acknowledgement that this is on leaders’ radar and that our leadership will have a voice in this issue as these projects continue to pop up in adjacent locations across the state. Leadership should be putting resources toward advocacy at the state level to get these costs lowered for common citizens and get these tech giants to pay their fair share. When folks can no longer afford power or water we have a major issue. Please don’t turn away from this rising issue. Water is the next big resource crisis and we need to stay ahead of it.
