I have traveled High Street between Arden Rd. and 3rd Street twice a day for the last ten years. Every time there is a heavy rain, water accumulates and flows down High Street between E. Mores Pike and 2nd St. forcing me to move to the other lane to avoid going through large amounts of water creating a very unsafe situation. I was delighted to see this section of High Street repaved last summer and noticed the sewers also being worked on. I assumed, incorrectly, that the runoff problem would be corrected during this maintenance project. Since the paving the runoff has actually gotten worse. Are there plans to fix this unsafe situation so cars can travel safely on High Street without endangering drivers and pedestrians? I regularly see in the Herald Times where is city is allocating and spending money on hiking and biking trails, sidewalks and various pedestrian conveniences. Water gathers in the city egress behind my property and backs up into my side yard. I think something is blocked.

The culvert behind this address is blocked with brush and trash from the recent heavy rains. The culvert needs to be cleaned out in order for the water to flow properly and not back up into the surrounding yards.

There is a culvert behind this debris. Water cannot run from road runoff on azalea ln. Plus we have a neighbor who leaves trash behind his fence that flows down to block culvert. these things are very heavy and I cannot lift them myself. This is city land and management issue for water drainage.

Hello--My mother has 2 rental houses on Olive St. (1502 & 1504) that share a water meter. The 1502 S. Olive has the water meter on that property. What would it take to have 1504 S. Olive it's own meter? How much would it cost?

Hi, The stormwater drains in this neighborhood are no longer able to process light rain. Since the Echo Park subdivision was built, we have noticed an increase in the amount of water collecting near the drains. Historically, the drains have not processed the stormwater quickly enough so the water pools in the street causing traffic and parking disruption. We would like to find a solution to this stormwater and runoff issue. Thanks, Gavin Kelly

water pools up by the mailbox of 175 E sunny slopes dr. any time it rains. becomes a huge puddle at least 3 inches deep and across most of the road.

We’ve lived here for decades. The sewer drain across the street and directly to the west overflow with even an hour of rain. These are old, limestone houses, so most of us park in the street or one car in the driveway. We’re all , mostly,60-75 yr old people. It’s not only so dark outside, if it rains, it’s absolutely brutal trying to navigate the curb, because the water is so deep. Winter is almost here, that’s even worse. I realize we don’t live in the rich neighborhoods, but we are all mostly IU educated people, we pay taxes. Our neighborhood doesn’t get snowplows for days. We are kind, old beatnik people, we have lived here for decades. If could please look at the drains, install a street light, and salt the streets this winter, we would greatly appreciate it. We love living here. Please and thank you.

I submitted an erosion/drainage issue behind my house (2201 E. Autumn Dr. Bloomington IN 47401). Someone from City called and left a message for me saying that it is on private property therefore City will not take care of it. I showed it to several other folks and in their opinion, it is City's responsibility since the rainwater pipe is the one causing the damage. I am not sure if your site visitors went to the location to verify this. The rain water from the entire neighborhood comes through this pipe and ends in the creek. I am attaching a picture with this form so that you can take a look at it.If the site visitor wants to visit again, this is happening in between (the back of ) houses 2201 and 2200.
