Yard Waste

1364 East Rogers Road

Case Date:
7/10/2018

Duke Energy removed two trees from city property (immediately adjacent to E Rogers Road) and left the two sycamore trucks cut up in 8' segments on my property. I called Duke and asked them to remove them, but they said it's the landowner's responsibility (Duke cuts, but doesn't remove). Since the trees were on city-owned land, I hope the city will dispose of them. Please see the attached screenshot from the GIS system that demonstrates where my property boundary ends. The city clearly owns some portion of land adjacent to the road. These two trees were within three feet of Rogers Road, and were removed to provide more access to the pole Duke is replacing. Additionally, I'm frustrated with Duke about two things: 1) The pipe they've installed immediately adjacent to the road is incredibly unsightly. It's rusty and approximately 20 feet too long. I'd be happy to provide a picture of this. 2) In order to get big trucks back to this pole, they have installed two corrugated plastic drainage pipes and covered them with gravel. They are dramatically too small for the location. Since they first did this several years ago, the pipes are continuously clogged with leaves and sticks. The flow of water is constantly stopped here. As a result, there is a bit of local flooding which washes out the gravel Duke uses to cover the culverts. This is a very disappointing solution to have implemented on one's property. I have pictures of this, as well. I have no problem with Duke accessing their pole. They have every right to do so. I also understand that the City probably didn't know their trees were cut down or placed on my property. But I'm quite disappointed in the quality of materials and work that Duke has utilized to access their easement on my property. Can you please help with these things?

The owner of 1413 w 11th st has established a series of about 7 five gallon plastic buckets up against his house that are holding stagnant water. This will breed mosquitos and is unsafe to the neighborhood as it will contribute to the spread of disease including the potential for zika. Please have the owner remedy the situation.

Neighbor water buckets The owner of the house at 1413 w 11th st has set up and maintained a series of several five gallon plastic buckets up against his house. The house does not have gutters and he is using these buckets to collect stagnant water. He has been doing this for months now. He knows what he is doing and this is intentional. The neighborhood is going crazy with mosquitos. This is a dangerous and unhealthy situation as it can explode the mosquito population and spread disease, including the zika virus. This is a low income neighborhood and there are many families and children around. Please address this situation!

Trying to use the online bill pay service for water, but it repeatedly is erroring out on me. Here is the error (stack trace), better error handling would be great, as this is not human readable in terms of actions to take.. Server Error in '/eSuite.Utilities' Application. 1st thing brings me to this site, my trash was not picked up today even tho was out last nite, damn near 40 bucks a month is 3 x what i was paying with stickers, for the same amount of trash, this sux ass for the poor man, the other thing when i 1st moved to Bloomington it was a nice and beautiful lil city, now its a bunch of apartments AND I mean A bunch, your tearing town Victorian style homes and houses to put up concrete cubes all over, most with no tornado hide outs, looks like a bunch of coffins waiting to happen just add students. And last yr ya jacked up the water rates to pay for folks who dont even live here yet, and the water quality is no good without filters, if this is your ideal of progress all i have to say is why destroy a beautiful town, my guess is all you folks cashing in on bloomington redevelopment. have moved out of town and just really dont care what ya did to the rest of us, because i now live in a town where most of us who moved in 15 yrs and earlier cant afford to live anymore, and since the town has grown ugly who cares, you folks have ruined a once beautiful and free thinking town, replaced buy an over priced town of apartments, nothing but an IU leech. im so sad ya'll did this to the town i was gonna spend my last yrs in.....

How does one email the mayor or any other city official? This ought to be part of our digital century. More specifically, i want information on how I can personally filter my water to make it safe. I'd like to see water safety information front and center on your website. Thanks.
