Resident at 4445 E. Moores Pike called to report neighbor's yard waste that piles up next to her property. It's a small pile of brush right now, but in the past has been very large and attracting wasp nests, etc. Neighbor places yard waste next to the old water pump station.
Allison Oeding, the property owner of 4445 East Moores Pike called Wednesday, March 22nd around 3:40pm to complain about a reoccuring problem that she has been having over the past year. Her property is adjacent to the old water pump station. At this water pump station it seems as though people have been placing sticks and leaves along the side of it. On two seperate occasions during this last year, she has had to clean up this area because it has been attracting things such as wasp nests. In the 1300 block of W 6th Street, the culvert where the open ditch goes under the North side of W 6th Street is nearly closed by debris, limbs, trash and a tire. The water is backed up. When it gets warmer it will be a prime mosquito breeding site and public health nuisance. This open ditch re-emerges near Kleindorfer's Hardware, goes around the auto body shop and under 3rd Street between that shop and Hinkle's Hamburgers. Litter, trash, plastic wrap & etc line the banks of this ditch and are no doubt being washed into the watershed. Shouldn't these businesses be required to send an employee out there periodically to clean up this trash?
Sent Monday, May 21: "I have been to your office to complain about the mess at 823 w. 7th street. The front porch is covered with trash that has been accumulating for 15-20 years. The back and side yards are overgrown and contain litter and receptacles that can fill with standing water. The property is a breeding ground for mosquitos, rats, and other pests. I and several neighbors believe it poses a risk to public health. Your enforcement officer took a look, but told me that nothing was ticketable. I respectfully disagree. While the overgrown vegetation is not “turf grass”, it is a menace and eyesore. The garbage on the porch attracts human as well as animal pests. It invites others to litter and dump on the property. Although I was at your office, I was not given a complaint form to sign. Nor was I able to submit a complaint on your website. (I don’t know why unless it was my iPad) I definitely want to file an official complaint and have it kept on record. I also ask you to reconsider and help us to clean up this blight on the neighborhood. Thank you."
Litter, water overflow, dumpster overflow in alley behind.
This house is outside of city limits. Hello, I would like to know I contact about neighbors letting their trash build up. The neighbors are in section 8 housing, but there is no reason to not keep up with burning their trash. This is causing a health hazard to the rest of us. One of my other neighbors just told me he has already talked with them and they don't seem to care. He even stated that he called the police, but the police, said they can't do anything about it because outside of city limits they are allowed to burn trash. But the problem is they are not burning it, "IT IS BEING PILED UP BY THEIR HOUSE" (yellow house on McCormick Lane), this is causing a rodent issues and problems for the rest of us. The same neighbor told me he woke up this morning with two dead mice floating in his dish water...very nasty he said. If you are the right people I should be contacting, please point in the direction of those I should contact. This problem needs to be address, before the rest of us are over-run with rodents and other unwanted critters. I would like to remain anonymous, but if not so be it! Thank you.
Can I say that we are thrilled with the new way trash is being picked up now? No. Furnace filter still in the trash can, other trash sitting next to the trash can, collecting rain water. Not a good job this morning. 700 block of Eastside Drive.
Hi, I was wondering if the trash vehicle could stop just tipping over the trash can when they empty the trash bins in SoMax area. This is the second week that the trashcan was on its side. It damages the trash can over time and this morning there was a lot of water inside of the can. Thank you.
1310 Multiple (~10) painted tires piled in the yard. There is an ordinance to prevent this due to the toxins released into our water system by decaying tires.
the trash and recycling receptacles have been on the sidewalk for 5 days. The yard is full of trash. There is pool that is full of standing water that has been there for about a month. There is busted indoor furniture in the yard. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure I saw a rat near the foundation yesterday.
