Good Morning, I called on Saturday night and spoke to someone, did not get their name, via the emergency number. He recommended I contact CBU on monday but I did not get to it until this morning. Situation is this: 6:15pm - My son and friend are playing near the creek/drainage ditch between Elliston Drive and E Dunstan. All of a sudden a big wash of water comes running down the ditch and proceeded to run for about 2 hours. Could be 3-6" deep roughly, best estimate. I called in and gentleman I spoke with asked that I take a video, which I did and can provide. I traced it back to a culvert outlet which was coming from Allendale. Looked in the inlets on Allendale and could see water was coming from the north and S. Dunstan. I walked up and could see evidence of water dripping from a truck (similar to the drips off the garbage truck). The drip path got bigger and wider until I saw water spill surrounding the top of a manhole in the middle of S. Dunstan at the dead end. I did also notice that there is a storm pond that was half full of water in the Acadia Court apartments. I do not recall enough recent rain to have filled that pond but it looked almost recently drained but hard to say. That's the story. I wanted to report because it seemed an odd time and weather for this to be happening. The water seemed odorless and in hindsight I wish I had got a sample. There may still be some pools with water if you want to investigate. The attached map shows the rough path and the smaller circle to the north is the manhole and the larger the detention pond behind the apartments. The smaller circle to the south is the culvert pipe outlet.

Water runoff is still an issue. I have reported this before and it is causing damage to my yard and basement. This area really needs a sidewalk or curb with storm drains.

I received the following email: Last year, you helped me and my neighbors deal with some of the water runoff plaguing our yards by installing a new storm sewer manhole. At the time, you mentioned the possibility of adding another slotted drain higher up on the alley to deal with the water that comes down the alley and into my yard. Do you think this is a possibility in the near future? In April, my backyard again was badly flooded with water coming in two streams: down the alley and from Woodlawn. BoI have discussed with Thrasher Landscaping possible remedies. They would involve adding pipes that would attach to the city pipes in my front yard. I am contacting you to see if this is possible. We need to be careful to aid damaging the existing city pipes that run through my side yard. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks again for the help you provided last summer.

Our neighborhood has had major issues with storm water for several years now, and we'd like to have someone come assess the area to see if there is a breakdown in the storm drain system in this area. The flooding issue begins between 3525 E. Third St. and 3520 E. Park Ln., and builds to the west along the property lines. During times of heavy rain (like we had over the weekend), many of the neighborhood back yards become flooded, and water tends to sit for several days afterwards. I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of the water during the rains yesterday, but will work to submit one during the next rainfall. There appears to be a perfectly adequate stormwater drain in front of 3508 E. Park Ln, but there doesn't appear to be a ditch that will carry the water from between our homes to that stormwater drain. Some help would be greatly appreciated, as we have had water backup in our basement in years past from this issue. Thanks very much for your prompt attention and help. Water form the neighborhood is flowing into my yard causing floods and interior damage once saturated. I have a lot of video evidence. I am trying to repair damage on my own, but I can't keep up.

at "auto glass" business at 2521 w 3rd st, this morning there was a large steady stream of water onto sidewalk even though it wasnt raining. so probably a broken pipe. please check on this or it will become a hazard for pedestrians when the temp crashes soon & it will freeze. thanks

On the southeast corner of the intersection at Woodlawn and Maxwell, runoff from the yard on that corner is causing significant ice accumulation on the road. It's impossible to pull up properly to the stop sign going north without veering into the middle of Woodlawn. I have lived on Maxwell for more than 20 years and don't recall seeing this problem before. There is a fire hydrant on the corner of the property, so perhaps this is the source of the water?

During Sunday storm, water runoff on Madison Street between 6th & 7th flooded into my commercial space (212 N Madison). It climbed a foot up the exterior of the building and flooded comletely to the back of the building, jeopardizing thousands of dollars in equipment and stock. It appears that the sidewalk tips toward the building, and so that once the water crests over the sidewalk, it is pushed into our space. It seems to me that the issue with the sidewalk is the city's. Further, I wonder if there is anything that can be done to ensure the functioning of the sewer, which is the problem at the base of the flooding issue. I know two other spaces on that block also flooded. I don't have a photo, but can secure one from my landlord if needed. Many thanks for looking into this. Jane
