There is not an issue at my house. However on Veness Road right before Bush Lake Road, water has been running on the road for well over 2 months. It is a very slow run off, but is definitely coming from the right land of Veness Road. About a month ago there was a major water leak on Veness just before Bloomington Ferry. That was fixed. This one has been leaking since early Spring. Thought I should let you know.

There's a run off in our back yard the pools up with water whenever it rains and it typically takes days for the water to subside. We have deer and ducks that often stop by to take a dip in our back yard :-) This standing water concerns me for mosquitos and others pests. Additionally, the sitting water has started to erode the dirt around the concrete to the point to where I can no longer mow around the area. To the best of my knowledge this is not our property and I wonder if the city maintains these run offs. Is this something that the city can take care of? Thank you for your time.

Bloomington seal coat paving does lots of driveways in my neighborhood. They make an asphalt ramp to the street that totally fills in the gutter. Is this allowed? It pushes the water out into traffic.

At the tree line behind my house and garage, there has been inches of water standing since around Thursday or Friday. I have lived here for 30 years and have never seen the water standing like this. I believe something has happened at the house behind the trees and draining down into my yard. The house had had issues of the homeless in and out of there and I am deeply concerned about the damage to my, and my neighbor's yards. Please advise

Water and debris continuously builds up on the west side of the street. The road slopes to the west side and there are no nearby stormwater drains. The closest drain is 1/2 block north on the opposite side of the street. This picture is directly in front of my house. The pavement at this site erodes due to all the standing water and debris and requires consistent patching. I have lived at this address for 16 years and this has been an ongoing problem. I have concerns this will only get worse as there is a new bus route starting in August which will be using this stretch of the road several times a day. I am told the road is to be resurfaced this summer however, without a proper drain system in place this will not resolve the problem. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I live at 1202 E. Elliston Drive (green house pictured). Elliston Dr, at the northwest corner of our lot, pools with a large volume of storm water after even a little rainfall, and it does not drain we have to wait for it to evaporate. I know it's probably an undertaking but is there any way the city can fix this? Overall the corner is a high elevation but there's a shallow pool there as you can see, and no storm drain. Could a storm line be ran down to another location so it can drain away and stop causing problems with the curb basically eroding away?

Dear Mr. Howard, Mr. Peden, Mr. Meyers, and Mr. Rollo, We are the property-owners at 2017 E Marilyn Dr. abutting Mr. Howard’s residential construction project at 1110 S. Covenanter Dr (http://howardshomeimprovement.com). We're writing because we're concerned about the addition of gravel this past week to Mr. Howard’s lot, raising it several feet above our property, creating what looks sure to become a pond of run-off water along the eastern edge of our property and causing likely flooding at the southern edge. A marshy meadow that used to collect water on Mr. Howard’s property has been shifted onto our property. In order to get a sense of the impacts and the city’s review of them, we are hoping to talk with Mr. Howard and a city inspector before further work proceeds. We are also concerned that the property line has not been staked and our property is being used for construction staging, with considerable removal of vegetation and possible spreading of gravel across the property line. Here is a rough calculation of the drainage runoff from Mr. Howard’s property onto ours: The raised area is 30’+60’+10’=100' X 12’ = 1200 sq ft (at the side) and 22’ + 12’ = 34’ X 10’ = 340’ sq ft (at the back) = 1540 sq ft (total). At an average 5” rainfall in May, that would create 4,800 gallons or 640 cu ft of runoff. Annually, rainfall is about 50” so the runoff would be about 48,000 gallons or 6400 cu ft per year. But with climate change we suspect those amounts are going to increase (rainfall for every month this year has exceeded the norm). We arrived at this estimate using the USGS rainfall calculator: https://water.usgs.gov/edu/activity-howmuchrain.html And we used rainfall estimates from: https://www.weather.gov/ind/Precip_scorecard_IND For the raised area of Mr Howard’s property, we used the schematics attached below. We also have attached photographs showing the construction staging on our property, and the effect of the land build-ups on the east side of our property line. Requesting an update on case #171056. Our storm water inlets are undersized and unable to handle the water flow coming to these inlets. During heavy rains these inlets clog just like last night 4/8/2020 photo attached. Much appreciate the update on this project to bring the storm water system on our road up to date.

The home we bought 2 years ago has flood damage and serious drainage issue that I can't not get under control. There is stormwater runoff that has been coming from (5) different neighboring properties and especially the one huge lot at 2130 Shan Crest Hill 46239. When there is a rainstorm not only does or crawl space completely fill up but our yard on the South, East, and west sides become quickly flooded like a lake. there is a 12" culvert drain pipe that runs east to west on the South side that run right next to the road Raymond Street that should be able to accept my neighbors & our ground water but the 12" easement drain pipe is roughly 13" higher win elevation than the area in the rear of my home where all of their ground water collects so it just fills up and resides under our homes foundation. My wife and I have tried everything bought and burnt out several 1, 2. and 3 HP water pumps with no luck. there is just way, WAY to much water. We are becoming very worried about the possibility's of permanent foundation damage, mold, and our home becoming condemned. Every contractor at least (9) or (10) decline getting involved engineers as well. we are at the end of our rope sorta speak.... I Just had a survey done along with a TOPO survey as well , I can send both to you if it would help. Please any help at all would be greatly appreciated...
