the gutter above my front door has been hanging off the building for weeks and my landlord has yet to fix it. it has been dropping nails and causes water to flood my entrance. the issue continues to worsen each day. it’s a large gutter and i’m afraid it could fall and hurt myself or my neighbors.

What appears to be a sump pump discharge pipe at 801 W Howe Street is sending a significant amount of liquid water into the public right-of-way during freezing conditions. Water is being dumped onto the sidewalk on S Maple Street, between W 2nd and W Howe. This is creating a driving hazard and safety issue at the intersection of W Howe and S Maple, as the liquid water is running out into the intersection, pooling, and freezing into a sheet of ice. What doesn't freeze at this intersection is travelling down Howe to the entrance for the Building Trade Park parking lot, where it is also freezing into a sheet of ice.
We have mold in our unit, the property management company is not taking proper actions to get rid of it, they said they are just going to clean it with dawn and water, I work for a property management company and this is not the correct way to handle it, I have informed my leasing office that they are NOT to enter my unit!
September 3, 2025 To the City Council, I am writing as a resident and concerned neighbor regarding the property at 2212 S Belhaven Court. Since Friday, August 29, the owners pulled all their belongings out of the garage and left them sitting on the driveway and even out onto the public sidewalk. Among the items are an old water heater and a refrigerator, left sitting there unsecured, along with various other household clutter. It has now been several days, and nothing has been done. The sidewalk is blocked, and frankly, it looks terrible for the neighborhood. Years ago, folks in Sycamore Knolls had the pride and courtesy to keep their property in order and not let things spill out into public space. It’s disheartening to see that kind of respect for neighbors and community slipping away. I urge the city to look into this matter and see that these items are removed promptly. I have noticed that past couple of months that there is trash being left or not making it into the dumpster by someone. This is not your normal move out and leave furniture trash. I have been picking it up and dumping it in the trash since it has been drawing animals and insects, and when it rains it washed down into the street. I have included a picture from today. This dumpster does not have an enclosure to make sure trash is mot ending up in the bushes or on the ground and running into the streets or water. Someone in the neighborhood is either missing the dumpster or throwing it next to the dumpster on purpose. There is now broken glass and other dangerous/hazardous items around this dumpster because of it. My observations from the last few weeks of picking it up: The trash will be in plastic or paper grocery bags instead of trash bags. They always have diapers, eaten and uneaten food, canned food opened and unopened, and miscellaneous items like paper, wipes, cardboard, clothing, etc. With it being many instances in broad daylight and where the trash is placed and conditions of the bags, I do not think this is animals dragging the bags from somewhere else. My suspicions are this is a child being send to the dumpster by their parents to throw things out but they cannot reach the height since this is a taller unit. Also, I think it is someone from the granite units at the very ends on the west side of Dorchester, closest to the heritage Dorchester dumpster. First, I have noticed the trash ends up on the ground on the side where the door is closest to the granite units as long as it is open. If it is not, then it is on the other side. Second, I saw kids come from that building and walk to the dumpster and walk around it for a few minutes before they left on Friday. I could see their feet under the carport. I then found a pot with food in it left there when I investigated after they left when there was nothing there earlier. Also, we have valet trash in our units and are expected there use trash bags. I have also seen people from the granite units walk down here and dump their stuff in our trash unit who live on the West side of the street instead of using their own. Trash metal over water line access. Buckets of water, long heavy metal parts. Looks like garbage dumped against private fence. Perfect place for rats. Garage addition built too close to property line. No gutters on 2 story garage. Water rotted out neighbors privacy fense.
Flickering outdoor lights from raccoon and water damage. Large holes in roof. Excessive growth, fabric curtains in front porch make this house a hazard. There is an open report on this home for over 200 days with Mike Arnold. Nothing has been find and the neighborhood is aware of the city report having been filed. This house is a violation of many city codes and nothing is being done.
Water drains into the building because to slope facing away from building. Almost every building has broken or no gutters causing sidewalks, hallways, low level rooms to flood.
