Question: why do my house plumbing leaks occur when lots of people leave town for vacation? This happens not every vacation, but most of the leaks in my house have occurred like today, at vacation time, or 4th of july, etc. Is it that city water pressure to my house goes up then? Do you try to regulate pressure for this vacation exodus?

Location 1008 E Thornton Dr.; Public safety/ traffic/ residential parking issue: Large amount of shoulder stone has eroded away due to to water run off from the street. Creating a large rut and beginning to undermine the edge of the steets pavement. (avg. 50'x1'x1') with the stone being washed towards Henderson St. then into the storm sewer system. This issue has been reported on multiple occasions over the last year by multiple residents.

There is a pile of debris sitting along the edge of the road. This is on the east side of Manor Road, where Manor runs between Southdowns and Sheridan as it crosses over the creek. This looks like debris that came from the creek, maybe during a high water time. It just needs to be removed and cleaned up.
In January 2023, while an optic cable was being installed on our street, the company called Vertical Underground LLC, which we were informed was contracted by the City of Bloomington to do the job, broke our sewer line (along with the lines of many others of our neighbors). We complained to one of Vertical Underground's managers who was working on fixing our neighbor's line, and he informed us that they would fix the problem and that we didn't need to worry. In order to do the repair, they had to break through our concrete driveway to repair the damage and re-pour the damaged section of the driveway. The problem seemed to be fixed for a few months, however, these past weeks, we have been experiencing the same issues that initially led us to the discovery of the damage they caused. That is, our drains are not draining, toilets are not draining and water is returning through the shower drain. We would like to request that CBU send someone to inspect the situation because we believe that the problem was not fixed properly. Thank you.

Hello - I am the homeowner at 102 South Waldron St. here in Bloomington. This past Friday my basement flooded an excessive amount (3 feet) due to water buildup on Waldron Street. This has happened 4 times over the past 6 years I have lived here because the water has nowhere to go due to the flat area at the bottom of Waldron Street. I am requesting a storm drain be installed on Waldron Street just North of my house and in front of 100 South Waldron Street. My neighbors basement has also been severely flooded over the years due to water buildup from the street - the homeowners name is Simon Ladd. We both have sub pumps in our basements (I actually have 2) and it still doesn’t solve the flooding issue. I have spoken to Mr. Ladd and we both agree the best solution is for the city to install a storm drain. My number is 812-369-0765. The baby pool at Bryan park is significantly colder than the main pool. Babies need warmer water, not colder, especially now that they can’t take a break by going down the slides on their parent’s lap anymore.
