The public sidewalks in front of Parkview Apartments are still completely unshoveled. The northern end of their sidewalk on Walnut Street is much like an ice rink. There may have been a burst water pipe. It's treacherous for pedestrians, and they seem to have done nothing to resolve the hazard. Photo taken 2026 Feb 1 – 3:54 PM
111? E. Kirkwood: Some sort of restaurant runoff (floor cleaning water?) is dumped from behind Opi Taylor's/Malibu. This goes on year round, but creates a sheet of ice in the winter (as it is today). The water runs/ices in front of an empty lot, so no one deals with the sidewalk. It's approx. 111? E. Kirkwood, just past the alley behind Book Corner, just at the start of the parking lot next to CVS. I originally reported this in 2017, I guess before it was cold. ureport#161324 and I was told it was runoff from an AC unit, which I think we can be sure is not the case in today's weather. I'm a daily walker from the near westside to campus. This is an ongoing problem. I really would like someone to just take some responsibility for either the initial liquid or the ice that results. Basements of 534 and 546 Graham Dr. are flooding. Water has been overflowing dam nearby and heavy water runoff every since Wininger Stolberg project (Laurelwood) began.
Ms. Johnson has a problem with water running into her yard from the street. She wants a curb installed.
MRS. RUDWELL STATES THAT ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE 900 BLOCK OF E MAXWELL LANE THAT THERE IS A DRAINAGE PROBLEM AND THAT HER BASEMENT FLOODS CAUSING DAMAGE. THERE ARE 2 NEIGHBORS ACROSS THE STREET NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF PARK & MAXWELL THAT HAVE PUT ASPHALT AT THE FRONT OF THEIR HOUSES. THE INSTALLATION OF THIS ASPHALT DOES NOT ALLOW THE WATER TO DRAIN INTO THE DITCHES CAUSING THE WATER TO RUN INTO HER YARD AND INTO HER BASEMENT. RUDWELL STATED THAT THE DRAINAGE IS ALRIGHT UNTIL YOU GET
Street Dept. received this complaint this a.m. There is standing water in the alley west of Dodds. (drainage problem). If this should be handled by Street Dept. please call them.
Ms. Smith has a problem with water ponding in her yard due to the construction of a retaining wall built by Steve Lankford.
Electrical panels (pedestal ?) and a/c unit are sitting in water which lies in sink hole #3.
SEE ATTACHED LETTER. Mr. Zeller believes that the water problem that he has in his basement is caused by the Carlisle Braking Company which borders his property. He has been dealing with the problem approximately 10-12 years.
