The tree/roots between the sidewalk and road between 2704 and 2702 E Brigs Bnd has caused the sidewalk to tilt and hold water. This will pose an icy surface and is difficult with my walker. I also am concerned the water will cause damage to my driveway. Is this something you can look into. Thank you. V/R Kenneth Crevier
Currently there is no proper rain water drainage on one side of the entire Graywell drive road. The road is eroding on one side since rain water flows over the road. Recently we had lot of rain as well and it has further eroded one side of the road. Can Bloomington Utilities install proper rainwater drainage so that roads don't need to be repaired again and again? It would be ideal if rain water can be discharged under the road. This will save lot of road repair costs. Thank you for helping the city with your work.
Greetings, I spoke briefly with a street maintenance crew as they were working in front of my home - and thought I'd share the conversation here. Over the past few years, the gutter from in front of our home (1504 E Elliston) on down to Fenway Pl has deteriorated significantly to the point that our driveway & yard are sinking as well. I'm no longer able to get my cars out of my driveway without scraping the bottom. When we get major rainstorms, I've noticed that the water runs directly into the ground from the gaps in the gutters & road, which I'd imagine contributes to the gutters & road sinking. I appreciate that they were out there patching the holes, but the patching really is very temporary from my observation. I was wondering if the city would have any plans to shore up the foundation, perhaps rebuild the gutters in a way that my driveway/yard won't continue to sink. Sidewalk impassible in front of old water treatment plant on S Walnut across from Royal (west side of street.
In front of our home at 1314 S Grant there is a dip in the road that holds water for days and sometimes weeks after a rain. Last summer it served as enough standing water to be a bad mosquito breeding ground... would love for it to be patched such that it doesn't breed them again this year.
At the end of the driveway at 2139 S. Bent Tree Drive, blacktop has been eroding away to a pothole. Water drainage from the street has been making it larger over time.
Crews have patched potholes on Montclair Ave within the last few weeks, but they missed an area that is on the edge of the roadway, next to the curb, near the southeast corner of Montclair, right near the intersection with Rock Creek. There are several holes that fill with water after a storm, leaving standing water that will encourage mosquito breeding. Please come back and fix this spot. Thanks, John
Several grade and issues with crumbling street surface on E. Linden Hill. Last year the water main was repaired and the street was partially resurfaced (by hand mixing) leaving the street with unlevel surfaces. In addition other parts of the street that are crumbling were not repaired. The street is fairly small so resurfacing the entire street with blacktop at the same time would easily rectify the issues that are on the whole street.
The side of the street some 4 feet long has sunk into the ground, creating a large hole that regularly fills with water.
The pavement appears sunken and now a water puddle remains even if it hasn’t rained...
