My water is off. There has been work in the area, but no communication about it. No work occurring today. I am quite disturbed that it appears I might be without water for a while with no information about it.
The folks installing the fiber optic have severed what seems to be the main water line on the North side of Etter Drive, at about 6:30 pm, Thursday Nov 2. Water is gushing above the street, and beginning to flood lots.
Water main break at w 17th st by storage units. Looks like fiber installation caused it. Will they be fined for this?
The water company is a monopoly that runs itself like its the 4th Reich. They offer zero assistance or help, unless your unemployed and not trying to better yourself at all. If you just quit on life and being productive, then the city helps you. If your a hardworking man, that fell on hard times due in no fault to himself, that guy can kick rocks. His only option is to pay his bill in full or else. The water company actually put a lien for 200 bucks against a paid for home worth 225,000! My family has had 3 or 4 generations of perfect bill paying with water company. Just my gma, dad, mom, aunts and uncles have paid city of bloomington water for well over 250 yrs combined, and that garners you zero good will or even common courtesy. They can't even acknowledge they're screwing you over and be polite. They know they're the only game in town so they treat people like crap and it's not ok.
I am a resident of Bloomington and live at: 3445 Constance Avenue I am enrolled in a college course called Environmental Technology. I have a project to perform and was asked by my instructor for the following items of the city where I live, Water Treatment Facility. 1. Types of pipe material 2. Initial cost of the water treatment system 3. Design water flow rate 4. Number of water towers and pumping stations 5. Problems with the system since it was built in 1967 6. Change in elevation from highest to lowest compared to where the location of water treatment facility 7. Types of disinfectant used I found three websites with a lot of information that I need but is there any other sites that would give me some of the answers to the questions listed above? This is a tree plot / water meter pit issue, a follow up on #168554. The meter in question is at 514 S Fess. You all couldn't it because someone---safety-conscious resident maybe, or self-motivated meter reader apparently had filled the hole in with dirt and tamped it tight. So, yes, resolved
Addendum to #168572. Another tree-plot hazard is a house or two south of 514 S Fess and is near the next water meter south of the one I first reported. It is a hole 12 - 18 inches deep beside the sidewalk. The photo show that it is roughly the distance from my foot to mid-calf. Thanks.
The construction on 10th street near the post office is absolutely unacceptable. Not only has it blocked traffic for weeks in front of where I live at Woodbridge apartments, but today the water main was broken and the power was lost.. Whoever is in charge of the operation should be held responsible.
I want to let management know what a great employee Debbie Miller is. We recently had our well water tested at the Dillman Lab and she assisted us with the process. She was so helpful and friendly, a great person to be representing Bloomington!
I've been waiting FOUR MONTHS (since July) for the city to move my water meter and connect my new water line to the new water main. The city told me that I needed to do this, and I've spent thousands of dollars to do it. Now it's almost winter. I keeping calling periodically, but nothing gets done.
