POSITION DESCRIPTION

Supervises and directs plant maintenance personnel. Evaluates plant equipment, scheduling and directing necessary repairs. Reviews, prioritizes, and assigns department maintenance work orders. Maintains physical inventory of all necessary materials and supplies, submits requisitions as needed, and makes recommendations regarding long-term inventory concerns. Maintains monthly and annual inventory records of fuel utilization, repair parts, and related supplies. Provides training and guidance to maintenance personnel involved in the upkeep of plant equipment and machinery. Periodically oversees the maintenance and repair of plant equipment for Monroe Water Treatment Plant and Blucher Poole Wastewater Treatment Plant.

 

EDUCATION

Minimum knowledge equivalent to a high school education plus up to 18 months of additional training.

 

TRAINING/SKILLS

Thorough knowledge of wastewater treatment equipment, and ability to perform both emergency and routine inspections of plant equipment and machinery and effect appropriate maintenance and repairs. Ability to supervise, manage, and direct the daily activities of subordinate personnel, and to effectively schedule various maintenance programs. Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and prepare factual reports.

 

EXPERIENCE

Minimum experience equivalent to over three years through five years.

 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

Class III Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator license is required.  Class IV is preferred. Valid Indiana Driver’s License.

 

HOURS

6:00am – 3:00pm, Monday – Friday. Overtime as requested.

 

SALARY

$38,715- $61,944
