POSITION DESCRIPTION

Responsible for collection of solid waste, recyclable items, large appliance items and yard waste from all city residences and applicable businesses within district boundaries, and ensures that the maintenance of all related sanitation collection equipment is scheduled and completed. Supervise and directs personnel. Provide sole management presence in department.

EDUCATION

Associate’s degree or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

TRAINING/SKILLS

Minimum experience equivalent to over five years through eight years, with some management experience. Thorough knowledge of the principles, techniques, and accepted practices of sanitation collection, including knowledge of vehicle and equipment operation and maintenance, and the proper collection of disposal of solid waste. Knowledge of the principles involved in planning and development of budgetary requests, and ability to administer department budget. Knowledge of financial and data analysis. Familiar with the principles involved in the cost effective purchasing of department vehicles and equipment and related materials and supplies.

LICENSE/REQUIREMENTS

Class B CDL with air brake endorsement, preferred.

HOURS

4:30am-2:30pm, Monday-Thursday, other times as required.

SALARY

$45,568- $61,531.50
