POSITION DESCRIPTION

Assists customer with initiating and terminating Sanitation Services. Enters and verifies information pertaining to new and discontinued services and maintains files. Processes and maintains special pickup requests. Responds to customer requests, inquiries, and complaints by phone, in person, and by email. Investigates and enters service changes into computer system. Inputs necessary information into spreadsheets or computer programs. Refers customers to assistance programs to help with unpaid bills.

EDUCATION

High school education or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

TRAINING/SKILLS

Working knowledge of department operations and standard procedures, and ability to operate in a modern work office environment. Ability to utilize computer, calculator, copier, and phone. Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and maintain accurate amounts and related records. Knowledge of standard filing systems and ability to create and maintain accurate files. Knowledge of department services and billing procedures. Ability to explain standard practices and department policies. Ability to communicate with customers in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner.

EXPERIENCE

Must have at least one year prior office/clerical experience.

HOURS

8:00am – 3:00pm; Tuesday - Friday

SALARY RANGE

$14.00/hr
