This project will construct a new sidewalk on the south/east side of 10th Street from Smith Road to Deckard Drive; a pedestrian crossing of 10th Street at Deckard Drive including a median refuge, signage, striping, curb ramps, a pedestrian hybrid beacon, storm sewer, and school zone flashing beacons along 10th Street.

Project Description

Funding for the design of this project was provided through the Common Council Sidewalk Committee. Construction will be funded by the City of Bloomington and Monroe County Community School Corporation. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has allocated funding for construction of the pedestrian hybrid beacon.

Design was provided by Shrewsberry & Associates.

PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING:

Thank You! to everyone able to attend the public meeting on Tuesday, December 6th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the University Elementary School (1111 N. Russell Road, Bloomington, IN 47408). Copies of the presentation boards from the meeting are available below.

Project Timeline

  • Design: 2016-2017
  • Public Information Meeting: Dec 6th, 2016
  • Bid opening on November 14th, 2017
  • Construction will begin in Spring 2018.
