Jim Lewis always aspired to be a farmer. He grew up on a farm, his friends were farmers, and his best friend has been an organic farmer since his teens. He heard about the Bloomington Farmers' Market, and was immediately impressed when he came down to check it out. Jim now loves coming every week and interacting with the Bloomington crowd. On 1.5 acres of his wife's family land, he grows all kinds of produce. His most popular are strawberries, potatoes, tomatoes, and broccoli. Jim uses a hoophouse for his starts, and his produce is all natural, meaning he follows organic regulations but isn't certified.
