City of Bloomington Utilities Announces Fire Hydrant Maintenance for Week of July 9

Bloomington, Ind. – The City of Bloomington Utilities is performing fire hydrant maintenance in the following areas during the week of July 9. This fire hydrant maintenance schedule is subject to change if each day's work is not completed as scheduled or due to inclement weather. 

• Sherwood Oaks Neighborhood
• Sherwood Green Neighborhood
• East Winslow Road
• The Stands Neighborhood
• Oaklawn Park Neighborhood
• Creeks Edge Neighborhood

Crews will flow and perform necessary maintenance on fire hydrants in the aforementioned areas. Signage will be displayed in the affected areas on the day the fire hydrant maintenance takes place. Maintenance crews will carry proper identification.

Customers may experience fluctuations in pressure and/or discoloration of their water during hydrant maintenance. Any customer experiencing discolored water is advised to run their cold water tap until it clears. During periods of discoloration, any customer experiencing discolored water is advised to postpone washing clothes and limit their use of hot water until the cold water clears.
