City of Bloomington Utilities Announces Fire Hydrant Maintenance for Week of September 3

Bloomington, Ind. – City of Bloomington Utilities will perform fire hydrant maintenance in an area within the following boundaries during the week of September 3:
 

Crews will flow and perform necessary maintenance on fire hydrants in the aforementioned area.  Signage will be displayed in the affected areas on the day the fire hydrant maintenance takes place.  Maintenance crews will carry proper identification.

Customers may experience fluctuations in pressure and/or discoloration of their water during hydrant maintenance. Any customer whose tap water becomes discolored during this period is advised to run their cold water tap until it clears. These customers are also advised to postpone washing clothes and limit their use of hot water until the cold water clears.

This fire hydrant maintenance schedule is subject to change if each day's work is not completed as scheduled or in case of inclement weather.
