B-Line Trail Crossing Improvements Involve Temporary Detour on North Rogers Street

Bloomington, Ind. - Improvements to the B-Line Trail crossing at North Rogers Street will involve a temporary southbound detour and northbound lane shift on Rogers between 8th and 11th Streets, beginning Monday, March 11 and ending Friday, March 22. The new trail crossing is being installed as part of the development of the Trades District and is designed to improve safety in the area. During the construction project, southbound traffic on Rogers will be rerouted to College Avenue, while one lane of northbound traffic on Rogers will remain open. The B-Line Trail will remain open to pedestrians during the project via a temporary bypass just north of the construction site. Vehicles and pedestrians should use caution in this area during the construction.

The temporary change in traffic patterns was approved by the Board of Public Works March 5. Property owners along the affected route were also notified of the request. The first half of the construction period coincides with local school and university vacation, when less traffic is anticipated.
