POSITION DESCRIPTION
Empties trash cans and loads bags of trash onto truck, as required. Loads trash into packer on assigned routes. Labor on trash, yard waste, and recycling crews. Inspects department vehicles and equipment, and performs weekly maintenance including washing, greasing, and checking fluid levels and tires. Ensures the cleanliness of collection sites by picking up stray pieces of refuse.

 

EDUCATION
High school education or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

 

TRAINING/SKILLS
Familiarity with City ordinances pertaining to refuse collection. Familiarity with shop mechanics and ability to perform basic inspections and maintenance on department vehicles and equipment. Ability to follow daily instructions from department superiors. Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.

 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Operator Driver’s License

 

HOURS
4:30am – 11:30am, Monday - Thursday

 

SALARY
$14.00/hr
