POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Incumbent serves as a Group Exercise Yoga Instructor for the Twin Lakes Recreation Center.  Immediate supervisor:  Membership Coordinator.

DUTIES:

Prepares and leads exercise sessions by designing a safe, effective, and well-balanced format of movement that is appropriate for the level of class.

Selects and use music that is of high quality and has a suitable pace (bpm).

Arrives at the exercise session 10-15 minutes prior to start and is available at the end of the session to answer participant questions or help with equipment as needed.

Attends all scheduled staff meetings, in-service trainings, and scheduled individual training sessions.

EDUCATION:

Some college education in exercise science, fitness specialist, or health related field and/or prior experience in group exercise leadership is preferred.

TRAINING/SPECIAL SKILLS:

Ability to interact effectively with the public.  Must be mature and exercise good judgment.  Must have strong planning and organization skills with the ability to implement a variety of exercise sessions. Ability to work independently, to be flexible, and take direction.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

Valid Indiana Driver’s License. CPR/AED and First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification is required. A Yoga Instructor certification is required.

HOURS:

1.25 - 3.75 per week.

SALARY:

$15 - $20 per hour.
