Position Description

Performs grounds keeping duties such as grass mowing and trimming, tree cutting, landscape pruning, turf repairs, seeding, fertilization, raking leaves, painting, litter pick up, trash removal, and other related duties.


Working knowledge and skill in the safe operation of trucks, lawn mowing equipment, tractors, weed eaters, power tools, hand tools, and other related equipment.

Experience/Special Skills

Experience with grounds maintenance and experience with maintenance equipment (i.e. tractors and mowers) preferred but not required. Painting experience is preferred, but not necessary. The ideal candidate will have the ability to be a self-starter and the desire to learn new skills. He or she will also have the ability to work long hours in varying weather conditions.


Employee generally works under the direct supervision of the Cascades Golf Course Superintendent. Frequently, the employee may be directed to complete a job without direct supervision.

Physical Effort

Must be in moderate physical condition. Moderate physical effort is exerted by the employee in the setup and operation of equipment; including bending, stooping, and the movement of extremities to operate equipment controls. Moderate to strenuous physical effort is frequently required for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions

Employee performs duties in and out of doors, in varying weather conditions, and is periodically exposed to excessive noise, dust, and vehicle fumes. Safety precautions are used at all times to avoid injury.


Shifts are adjusted seasonally and can be tailored to meet the employee’s needs; normally 8 hours per day, may start as early as 5:30 a.m. Some weekends, holidays, and ten-hour workdays required. Term of employment not to exceed nine months.


$11.61 - $12.88 per hour based on knowledge, skill, and applicable experience.
