Position Description

Ensure the safety and well-being of pool patrons; enforce facility rules; conduct emergency procedures when necessary; maintain facility cleanliness; participate in all regular, ongoing in-service training sessions; take direction from Lifeguard Supervisor, Pool Manager and Pool Supervisor; foster good public relations, enforce rules and safety policies; all other duties as assigned by supervisors. 

Education

High school education or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 

Training/Special Skills

Lifeguard training required; previous guarding experience required. Applicants should be able to swim 300 yards in less than six minutes.

License/Certification

Lifeguard training required. First Aid, CPR-PRO and AED required. These courses are offered by the Department. Candidates may take the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course offered by the Department. 

Hours

Varies between 15 and 50 hours per week, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Flexible schedule required. Season: mid-May through September.

Salary

$10.53-$11.67 per hour
